Hola amigos

I am writing this in response to many of the comments above which struck a chord with me. I  recently purchased a small apartment in central Torrevieja and hope to come over frequently during the low season ( as the summer months are far too hot for me). Although there are myriad activities in the town and surroundings, they seem mostly to be directed at those who are spending a relatively long  continuous period in the area whereas I feel the need for a network into which one could  easily dip from time to time. I am a retired teacher of extra mature years and will generally be in the town on my own which does tend to make one feel somewhat vulnerable even though the facilities are very good and I speak good Spanish. I have met a number of people in the same position as well as many  people who bought property with a partner and are now alone and feel nervous visiting on their own. Hence, I rather like the idea of making contact with people in the same position with a view to establishing some sort of network so that one would know when others  were also  likely to be available to meet up for coffee and a chat.  I'd be delighted to hear from anyone  who felt the same so that we could swap dates and meet up when available.

Thank you for your reply. Will Google the location.

There seems to be a shortgage of ladies coffee mornings in this area.

If there was enough interest perhaps this is something that could be set up.

Any thoughts from you or others?

I'm in Torrevieja centre by Playa del Cura. Happy to meet up but not here permanently.

Have also registered on various Facebook groups but not found anything that regular

Hi likewise I retired six months ago. And have recently arrived in Torrevieja. I am interested to meet and make friends as I’m alone here and would love to network with various groups. I enjoy dancing, walking, reading. eating out and generally people watching etc. I would love to connect whenever you’re here.

The ideal place to meet people is Phoenix Solos. Not a dating site but for friends and they arrange a lot of events.

They meet every Monday at the Marina International bar Torrevieja at 11am.

It is behind the small bus station near the port NOT.the main bus station.

You will find more info online

I asked if anyone was interested in setting up an International Dining Club here and didn’t get even one reply. I wanted to do something like the International Women’s Group which is worldwide. Seems as though most people in this area aren’t interested in cultural activities.

I would be interested in a dining club. Gull

I may have misinformed you as they start at 12 but people get there earlier and have a drink.

Last week was an AGM so was a bit earlier
