I believe Pokemum meant nerds in the traditional sense of geeks :)

Petanca in the Costa Blanca is very "traditional". (as described in the link)

Where we are living in England is only a couple of miles from the World Bowls tournament and I played grass bowls occasionally as a kid. Boule could be a good way of meeting others in the local community but I don't think there are enough dragons 😉
