Things to do around Torrevieja

HI

MY wife and myself have an apartment in torrevieja near the habaneras centre and would like some suggestions about things to do in the area place's to go, good bars, good restaurants, concerts , festivals, anything that might be of interest, best places to meet people from around the area we also would like some advice on buying a car , we would like to hear from anyone who can help

Hi Barri - I too own a small house not far from the Haberneras - there is a lovely Italian Restaurant called Giovanni's - serves Steaks, Lamb, Chicken, as well as Pasta & Pizzas - they also have a Menu of the day - 3 courses for under 15euros - I've never had a bad meal there - head past St James Gate (large Irish pub on opposite side of the road ) and turn right at the Large Wooden building at the traffic lights (ex Steak house) - it's just a few units along on the right

There's also Live music on at the 1st pub on the corner opposite St James gate - every Friday night from 21.00-12.00 - has a large triangular outside garden - in May it was a Blues Saxaphone player/Singer and he was really good

All the expats in the area flock to The Marina Bar which is behind the Fire Station (Bomberos) - it has a large swimming pool which you can use all day for 3.5 euros - very inexpensive drinks and live Jazz every Tuesday lunchtime - they also have excellent food.

The Torrevieja Friday market has moved to the new park next to the Aqua park - just past the Haberneras (next roundabout and turn left) - takes me 15mns to walk there

Go to the Tourist offices down at the Marina and ask what's on - there's invariably music or entertainment that's not always advertised in the freebie newspapers!
