Hi all I'm planning on moving to mainland Spain. I have been re searching into Torriveca, La Mata, La Denia. Ect.  I have Residencia also have applied for TIE in TFS.

Would like some advice on which areas where I could meet ex pat's, I am retired I plan on renting. Would like to be Close to town.  I don't drive a car so need to be near transport,  also near beach. & Airport.

Enjoy a social life, bars entertainment but not heavy drinker.

Also enjoy Snorkeling sight seeing swimming, walks, Bingo tv, reading,

Diy  & gardening.

A lot is now dependat on income if you want to live in spain.  Since brexit the spanish government are trying hard to discourage brits from living in spain and renting accommodation on an income less than 24,000 euros per annum

Hello

This is completely untrue!  Spain are part of the Schengen Agreement  -- 26 countries who agreed these rules many years ago ( in force from 1995) for 3rd country nationals. At that time, although in the EU, the UK wanted to control there own borders & didnt join Schengen but when Brexit was agreed, they lost their freedom of movement & now have to comply with the rules for all other 3rd country nationals....

. Many Brits on this forum are in the process of applying for Visas now... the  figure you quoted was also inaccurate -lots of other members will have more info. to add to this post.

Here is a list of the countries in the Schengen area...

I will answer the question you asked. Spain has many amazing places to live its all down to what you are looking for, most expats seem to go for the coastal areas. Torre Vieja is nice, I live in Villa Joisoa and love it. Both Javea and Denia are very nice and would be a great choice in my opinion. If you want madness then you have Benidorm. All of these areas have a large community of British and lots of bars to choose from.
