I flew back from Newcastle to Alicante today and had to show QR code and Negative Covid Certificate pre and post flight. Two people were denied boarding as one had a NHS Covid test certificate which was not acceptable and the other's Negative result was not accepted, as it would have been 74 hours from the test time to him landing in Alicante.

Please check your Covid test time to make sure it is still valid when you land in Spain as they are obviously strictly enforcing the 72hr window.

Plane very quiet with only 12 passengers.

Very interesting information.

The people refused obviously did  not check the rules. They can’t use an NHS test

and Covid PCR has to be 72 hrs or less.

Funny enough someone someone I knew went back last week to Madrid and were given the 3rd degree on arrival and someone else I know that came back to Spain via Alicante did not get stopped questioned by anyone.

This was back in Mid January when Ryanair were still flying the Newcastle to Alicante route.

Hi my understanding from the gov.U.K. Website for tests and travelling is that the 72 hrs start at the time of test to your time of departure not your time of landing at your destination.I am going back from Santander to Portsmouth on the ferry which is a 24hr crossing and have checked with many people on various Motorhome forums that this is the case.

Got back on to the gov.U.K. Website for the exact wording

“” You must take the test in the 3 days before the service on which you will arrive in England departs”

Hope that clears the matter up
