If you manage to find an airline that can take dogs, you need to be aware that they will be held in a an area within the hold, and not on a seat in the passenger section!
If you’re going to be in England for an extended length of time, it would be far better to take doggie back by road

Depending on the size of your dog they can go in the cabin with you on certain airlines. I think it’s a weight limit of 10kg including the carrying basket, and KLM is one of the airlines that will take your dog. I spoke to a lady at Alicante airport last month who flies back and forth to the Netherlands with her dog in the cabin, she says he doesn’t mind it at all and costs her 50 euros each way.
Hope this helps

I would suggest you use a travel agents office as they will know what airlines will take small dogs in the cabin. Internal Schengen flights would be a bit different to non Schengen where animals are concerned. National Carriers like Iberia, KLM ,SAS etc allow it and maybe British Airways. I see people coming off the internal Spanish flights with small dogs at Alicante Airport so you would be able to take a flight from Alicante to Madrid or Barcelona to connect onwards to UK. If you are successful do let us know.
