Morning all, Looking for a wee bit of advice.

We recently bought a small 2 bed bungalow for holidays and future retirement. As of yet we haven't had any family stay.  However, during Easter our daughter her husband and his parents are coming over to stay. Ordinarily I wouldn't ask my daughter and her husband to pay for staying the week,. However, as there will be 4 adults and 1 child staying, I was thinking that I should ask for them to make a contribution towards the elictricty and water they will consume during the period as well as air-con/heating. Is this reasonable and if so, how much would be fair to ask ?

Thanks in advance.

Will

Maybe wait and see if they offer else you might create an atmosphere at the start. If they dont offer or buy any gifts for you as a thank you just don't have them over again. Think that's the best way to deal with the situation. Hope you all have a lovely time.

Thanks Briedy, will see how it goes. On a similar vein, what would be the ave weekly cost of water, leccy etc in a 2 bedroom? At moment our 3 leccy bills have all been standing charge only.

I don't allow anyone to use our house. If people want to visit us whem we are there i find them a private rental. People have asked us about using it and we say no. It's our home.

Your welcome forgot to say we have only 1 aircon unit but have been using it a lot for heating.
