Hi,

We have both gas water heater and hob and our bottles are stored outside the kitchen which is best if you have this option.

The reason we changed to a gas hob ( we already had a gas water heater) is because I prefer cooking on gas and if you do have a power cut you still have gas to use but make sure you have a window open so you don't get a build up of fumes.

As for the water heater we prefer this as we get instant and continuous hot water whereas with an electric tank you tend to run out of hot water and have to wait for it to fill and heat up. We also find the gas more economical than the electricity but that's just personal experience.  It all depends on usage and the size of your dwelling.

Hope this has helped somewhat  :-)

I  found  your  reply   helpful   as Apartment  is  in Altos de Limonar. I  will  see if  I  can  store Bottle  outside   or  would  I  need  permission  from  President?

Hello

I have maintained the system that was in place when I bought 20years ago. Elec boiler, gas hob & electric oven so always covered for cooking in the event of a power cut.{ they used to be regular esp during the summer months)

One bottle of gas lasts almost a year for the hob, which along with microwave I use the most.

Cheers

You may find that you have a small electrical supply. 3.4 kw is not unusual. That won't run an electric hob.

An electrical water cylinder will take at least 1.5kw.

Suggest you look at your electrical supply/bill to check your rating, described as "potencia".

How  long does  your  Gas  bottle  last?  If  Cooking  and taking   Shower.  If  it  is not too  invasive  of a  query. I  will  look  at  replacing  Gas bottle  to external  part of Apartment.  Would  I  need  permission  to relocate  Bottle  to external  wall  from President  as it would  under metal stairs leading  to Soluriam  and  it a quad building  with each Apartment  having  own stairs to their  own Soluriam

Thanks  in advance

Hello

If you dont have access to a Iberdrola bill for your property, you can contact them online or by phone or via their app...https://www.iberdrola.es/empresas/informacion/ventajas-area-cliente

Here's a link to give you information & once registered online you can choose a plan to suit your needs.

In the meantime, ask a neighbour ( if you have one) they are often knowledgeable about these things

Cheers

If you can find your meter/incoming supply, look at the Amp rating on the main breaker.

16A denotes 3.4kw.

I have heard of some flats having potencias as low as 1.5kw, so the breaker would be maybe 7A.

Hi,

For the shower we go through about 3 a year and the gas hob about 2 with 2 of us in the house.

I'm sorry but I can't help with permission from your President as we live on an urbanisation and not in a community although I would advise you ask them.
