Hello, newbie here. I’m looking to purchase an apartment in Torrevieja, but have heard some conflicting reports.

Questions:

Is Torrevieja safe?

Where are the good areas to buy?

Thanks in adv

Hello JonMac,

I love Torrevieja, I have had an apartment there for 16 years and have just sold it simply to move a little inland to get more outdoor space. I made sure I stayed within 10 to 15 minutes by car from Torre so I could visit frequently. We have never felt any problem with feeling safe. We were in the very centre, people on the outskirts may feel differently I don’t know.

There are loads of things to do and everything is in walking distance. There are so many restaurants and bars and even multiple beaches to choose from.

Good luck with your decision 😊

Thanks AnneLouise, we’re coming over to visit Torrevieja next week, hopefully we can get a good feel for the place.

We don't live in Torre but a few km outside and visit a couple of times each week whern we are over. We have never once felt unsafe there, even when out late at night  but like any big town, as long as you keep your wits about you, you won't have any problems.
