Hi

I'm wondering if anyone can advise of current average time for a tourist licence application to be processed in Torrevieja?

I heard things were moving quicker... Fingers crossed! :-)

Hi Ray. The estate agent is doing the application for me, but not that I'm aware of..  tho they are pretty abysmal at keeping me up to date..

If you are within Torrevieja Town hall area then they are better than most at issuing the Compatibility Certificate, just a few weeks is what I have heard.  Once you have that, and the other relevant documentation, then the application to Alicante can be made.  They have cleared the worst of the back log now so that should only be an additional few weeks.  However, you cannot rush officialdom in Spain!  Then get your appointment with the Guardia Civil to obtain your login details for registering guests, buy your plaque and complaints forms too.  Ensure the agent hands the certificate over to you and does not keep it!  You will also need to take out appropriate holiday letting insurance with public liability cover.  Good luck.

Ha! I'm rapidly going off the idea completely!

My estate agent has just sent me a picture of the application sent September 2019, which then sounds like still waiting for step one...

Solicitud de compatibilidad urbanistica  para vivienda turistica

...5 months later!  Holy smokes! :-)

Yes, that's stage one, but I have heard that Torrevieja Town Hall are issuing them fairly quickly.  Is it a different Town Hall?

The date stamp on the form says ayumiento de Torrevieja

So assume it's the same place?

Yes it would be.  Have they chased it at all? - not always worth it but they should at least have tried to find out why the delay.  And they certainly should be keeping you informed.

I'm assuming that is the date stamp.when the town hall received the application that is showing on the form and that the actual certificate would clearly state it's a certificate?

No, I'm confident he won't have done anything proactive.

All you can do really, unfortunately, is badger the agent for information.

Hi could I also ask a quick question in the matter? I went to the town hall to apply for the licence and recived the form "solicitud de compatibilidad urbanistica" that you are mentioning above. Is it only to fill it in and go back with the form to the town hall or do I need to give them other documents as well? He just said that I need to get a stamp on it from Urbanista, what is that? :-)
