Can someone please explain in detail the 90 day in 6 month rule for visiting Spain as a tourist.

We normally visit in mid April to end of May then early Sept to mid October. Unsure if we can continue to do this since new Brexit ruling.

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Its a rolling 180 so you need to start counting the first day you enter and make sure you have not exceeded 90 days in the 180 days after that irrespective of how many times you visit. Stick some dates in here to see how it works:

Hi Graham c

Ok its a rolling 180 days which you can use any 90 in any combination you like, so see below dates I have added into my app on the phone called "Schengen calculator free"

Lets say you enter Spain on 15th April that is day 1 if you drive then whatever landing point would be day 1, you leave on 31st May that meens you have 43 days left in the rolling 180 to use.

Lets say you now arrive back 15th September this would be day 1 as your rolling 180 days finished on the 30th August so you are back to 90 in 180 days, you leave on the 17th October you would be left with 57 days to use if not your 180 days rolls out 19th January 2022.

So for what you are doing you are well under the days, download the calendar app its great keeps you right, hope this helps

Hi. If you travel out on the 15th April and the rolling 180 days starts then, doesn’t the period end  around 6 months after that date eg October, and not the end of August?

The app is good for calculating the number of days you can stay but it doesn’t give you any indication on when the 180 days expire. You have to count forward yourself to ensure you know when you can travel out again. If anyone knows an easier way, please let me know. Thank you

It does take forward dates so add 6 months on to you first entry date and play with dates around that.
