Don't forget if your driving to include the days you entered any EU Country e.g France. Your days start when you land off the boat, plane and car in the EU

Count forward 180 days from the first date you arrive in Spain (2nd May) and you can return after that date.
You can only spend 90 days in 180 days so you can come and go any time during that period as long as you don’t exceed a total of 90 days.

If you stay for 90 days from 2nd May you can’t travel again until Early November

If the 180 was not rolling and, for example started 1st Jan every year, you could then go 90 days oct-dec and 90 days jan-march. It is rolling so you can not do this. so if you did stay oct-dec you would need to wait until 180 days from your entry in oct had passed so you could go back in - because you would have used your 90 in 180 in oct-dec.

In ANY 180 day period you can not have been there for more than 90 days.

Put very simply

If you have not been in Spain in the 90 days before your arrival then you can stay for 90 days, 90 days in 180, remember its days not nights, a single night is 2 day, 7 nights is 8 days.

If you have been in Spain any days in the last 90 before arrival then deduct the number of days and you have your allowance.

Because it is a rolling 180 days, you can redo this calculation at any time, and it will work, remember it is days not nights, so flight leaving at 1 minute past midnight adds a day.
