If the 180 was not rolling and, for example started 1st Jan every year, you could then go 90 days oct-dec and 90 days jan-march. It is rolling so you can not do this. so if you did stay oct-dec you would need to wait until 180 days from your entry in oct had passed so you could go back in - becau...

...se you would have used your 90 in 180 in oct-dec.

In ANY 180 day period you can not have been there for more than 90 days.

The goal posts move, it started January 2021. If you go anytime of the year the first day you arrive in the EU  is day 1 and you start your 90 days

Not sure how the goalposts move with 90/180?

You can't spend more than 90 days in any 180 day period. Obviously this did not apply before 1/1/2021 and you did not need to count time you had stayed prior to that in your 90/180 calculation - but 90 days post that date have already gone so everything from your entry date now needs to be counted.

Sorry i had put the dates in wrong, it will work the correct days and re entry for you, it will show in red once you have overstayed.

You count backwards from the time you enter Schengan
90/180 Schengen Visa Rule

The 180-day period keeps rolling. Therefore, anytime you wish to enter the Schengen, you just have to count backwards the last 180 days, and see if you have been present in the Schengen for more than 90 days throughout that period.

Looking at the calculator your dates show be fine.

Hi. If you travel out on the 15th April and the rolling 180 days starts then, doesn’t the period end  around 6 months after that date eg October, and not the end of August?

I agree. The 180 rolling days would end in mid October.  We usually fly out about the 5th May and stay about 43 days. Next trip is back starts about 6th September and we stay another 43 days. We have worked out that these two trips keep us within the 180 day rule.

Now.... we like to take a fortnight holiday in February and normally we would have taken that holiday somewhere in the EU but for the last couple of times we have taken our February hols in Morocco. This means we don’t have to faff around working out the rolling 180 days. The added bonus is that Morocco in February has rewarded us with beautiful hot sunny weather.  Hurrah!
