Hi everyone, does anyone know if there have been fines, exclusions etc issued to people who have overstayed there 90 days?
Just curious to find out how it is being enforced .

I doubt that there has been enough time since Brexit to be able to collect enough data to give a true picture. Some who overstay might not be allowed back into the EU next time they plan a holiday. Time will tell.

I agree with Steve's answer above.
But also, people fined or sanctioned are less likely to come on here and post it.

Brexit people that voted for it have caused a right MESS
A couple near where we are were apparently rejected twice for residency and are overstaying if true. Not sure why as they are retired have a house here and in the UK and eat out every day have a new car etc.
Back on topic I suppose those who have had their applications rejected must appear on a list somewhere? Wouldn't take much brain power to start deportation if the Spanish wanted to so maybe the Spanish aren't inclined to do it at this time?
No idea about others that are flying under the radar maybe the threat of fines for those employing or providing accommodation might be enough to smoke them out. Again there has to be inclination on the part of the Spanish to want to do this before it happens.
What we haven't seen are folks being deported by the plane load which some were hopeful of.

There was never any prospect of people "being deported by the plane load". Not sure where you got that from!
All cases will be dealt with individually.

The big problem will arise if and when serious health matters arise
Especially if no insurance or exclusion clauses in the policy

Can someone please explain how the 90 days works. Can you for example stay the 90 days back to back giving a total of 180 in one go. Or do you have to leave the country after 90 days. How long between each visit do you have to be out of the country etc.

Thank you. I am a resident in Norway and will soon have a Norwegian passport as well as my British one. ( Brexit has forced me to do this ). Once I have my Norwegian passport I will hopefully avoid this 180 days a year nonsense. However it is my friend who is English and living in England that I am asking about the 90 day stay for. If I am to understand correctly then after staying 90 days he has to be back in England for 90 days before he can return for the next 90 days ?
