I am thinking of purchasing a 2 bed min property in the area but have a max budget of €50,000.

Is this a realistic figure for something decent or am I just wasting my time?

The idea is that we would live there for the summer, winter and school mid-term holidays with our 2 kids but not live there permanently and other family members and friends could use it when we are not there.

In terms of what we are looking for it would need a communal pool to keep the kids entertained and be walking distance to shops, restaurants, entertainment for the kids and if possible beaches!

The good weather would be the most important factor for us and just want to have a place to escape to cheaply whenever we can.

We also do not speak Spanish so an area where knowing the lingo is not essential would be good too but we would be looking to learn as much as we can :)

So are we wasting our time or does something like the above actually exist for under €50,000 anywhere on the Costa Blanca?

Have a look on Kyero and you would definitely get a two bed apartment in Torrevieja but better off coming over and looking in the estate agents that are not online that’s where you’ll find the bargains,,

Enjoy your search

Hi  Remember you will also need approx 10-15% for legal fees etc but doable!!!!!  Good luck

Look on-line at the Bank Repossession Sites - there's a good Spanish one with a red sign and a black bull (sorry I forget the name) but they had lists of 2 x bed properties in their window when I was over in Oct  this year.  You should be able to find something within your budget but it may need a little cosmetic work - decoration, etc

The Agency I used in Torrevieja was Alegria  - I had 2 x inspection visits to Costa Blanca before deciding on which holiday home to purchase and they arranged everything for me.

Hi Reni10,

I've just done a search on www.kyero.com for your stated requirements, minimum 2 beds with pool:

https://www.kyero.com/en/torrevieja-property-for-sale-0l1822?beds=2&has_pool=true&max_price=50000

For comparison, I did a further search, removing the pool option:

https://www.kyero.com/en/torrevieja-property-for-sale-0l1822?beds=2&max_price=50000

To allow for the additional costs of property transfer tax and fees, within your budget of €50k, the price you pay for a property shouldn't exceed €44k.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thats for the search links, looks like there is only mobile homes in my price range at the moment!

Is there anywhere else on the Costa Blanca that is still near the coast and entertainment and still sits within my budget?

Hi  Have a look at casasymar.com they have a few properties around your budget the one I have seen is reference A3140JN 3 bedrooms in Los Locos for 59,500 euros, 150 m from beach,  Los Locos is a nice area with a few bars and restaurants and a lovely promenade walk round to Torrevieja Marina with lots of restaurants and bars on the way, maybe they would be open to offers!!!  Im not an agent just trying to help  Gillian

Hi look on Idealista , and around La Siesta and San Luis , there are still property’s in your price bracket and Torrettas as well , some have community pools or it’s a short drive to the sea and there is a local water park there as well , good luck with your search and get a good independent solicitor , not the one from the selling agent and don’t pay a deposit to the agent pay it to your solicitor 👍

There are still some apartments going and a few properties in Torretas etc but they are going to need work which I guess could be done over a period of time. Prices have taken a bit of a hike this last 6-12  months, Inland Orihuela is a better bet or a one bed place maybe using a divan / bed in the lounge area. 60 to 70K gets you into a much better choice of properties. Torrevieja has always been cheap, however only 4 years ago when we left Torremolinos that was the case too, there were plenty of for sale signs up but just 2 years later the situation had changed completely with very few for sale signs and with asking prices having risen by over 50%. We looked to go back there 2 years ago but a decent 1 bed flat was 110K which is why we plumped for Torrevieja.
