Blimey they are going for it.....what a disappointment for everyone.

This virus is an absolute nightmare.......no real light at the end of the tunnel really either. The car is looking more and more favourable.

Also when you exchanged your Uk driving licence to a Spanish one, On the back of your uk licence shows what entitlements to drive particular vehicles of all sizes, weights and measures, For example, my uk licence entitled me to drive Vehicles described as A, AM,B, BE, B1, C1, D1, C1E, D1E, F, G, H, K, L, N, P, Q, = 7.5ton/Mini Buses ect ect. When I received my Spanish licence my entitlements were AM, B, BE, That's all, so I have lost all above except 3 of them, limiting me to only 3.5ton including trailer!!!! So back to the drawing board, If you still have a copy of your UK licence check to see? You can always go on the DVLA website, providing you have your UK driving Licence number to check what entitlements you had, but its worth checking the site out.

Hope you have cancelend your card all the best

Yes you lose everything on your english licence unless you reapply for it at the time and you have to go through the spanish tests for it, not the actual driving tests but things like medical

Thank you for your reply, I did go through a medical and coordination test, so gathered that would suffice. I have had a long winded response about why my entitlements were not included, this involved the wording that the Spanish don’t apply entitlements like their UK counterparts do for a normal car licence or used to do? But can reapply any time for entitlements to be included, but a more strict medical, coordination and possibly a driving test may apply for those extra entitlements at a additional cost to me! But at some stage I may look into more. But to be honest 3.5 ton will do me at my time of life, but l did not know or expect/suspect anything of this doing, even with the legal help I had.

Yes and with the way thinhs are atm your lucky if you can get a get job. So best to just enjoy the moment of freedom until this is over. But a tip, most driving companies (British owned) in spain prefer UK licences if its for long haul or over 7.5tonne because its a higher qualification, all of benicoaches, eurofoods, king foods, overseas etc

Hi

Thanks for sharing this and I bet it's a bit of a disappointment. I wouldn't be happy if that happened to me to be honest but that's Spain I suppose.  I have a lot of entitlements on mine including my bike licence which allows me to ride any motorbike, but perhaps this stays on?

I mean the tests cant be that good based on the fact that in my own experience the majority of Spanish drivers are terrible, erratic, cutting you up, overtaking dangerously etc etc. I'm hoping I dont get slated for this but there you go.

Rumour has it that anyone not getting the residency before 31/12 will have to sit a test in Spainish anyway to exchange.
