Hello

Can anyone tell me the best/nearest petrol station to fill up a car before flying out of Alicante?

Many thanks

It's amazing how much angst this subject causes some folk.

Unless a gas guzzling behemoth no hire cars fuel gauge is going to respond to let's say the first 20 or 30km from a top up so fill it up anywhere within that sort of distance from drop off.

When they check them they only look to see if they appear to be full and principally is only to avoid complaint by the next customer so for all practical intents and purposes if it looks full then it is full!

It's worth topping up a hire car on the day you pick it up just so you can observe the gauge and how many km you can drive before it no longer looks full to you, then you know exactly how many km you can drive it after topping up prior to drop off 😉

You might also be surprised at how unfull it may have be to begin with!

Hi

You’re coming from the South from Torrevieja so use the station at Gran Alicant. It’s a slip road just off the N332 and the garage is REPSOL. It’s attended service and they will do it for you. Ask for “completo” (full). Keep the receipt for the drop off. But they never ask for it. Quick and easy and full of other car hire users!!!

I always top up to the limit in Torrevieja the night before where it’s much cheaper and the few miles to Alicante never stirs the gauge. It’s always beyond full handing it back and they always seem happy

This is where we always topped up and the minute they see a hire car they say “to the top” 😀 - also not that much more expensiv

You didn't say where you were coming from, but certainly if coming from Alicante or from the North of Alicante then, the ESTACION DE SERVICIO EL ALTET, Avenida de Cartagena, 5903195 L'Altet. Alicante, will be the closest and a good choice, as most of the day they always have an attendant on the forecourt. Nice cheerfull service. Punch it into google maps and it will take you straight there.

I used Wiber just recently - thought they offered a fabulous service and at reasonable cost.
