Yes. I use Easycover. They do a non-resident type of cover,I'm with Reale Seguros, but I suspect every insurer quotes for non-res as there's so many of us. If you do opt for non-resident insurance, check the annual mileage limits, mine is 10K.

I can recommend Abbeygate Insurance, they are based in Spain and have an all English staff. Even though they are a Spanish Insurer they give all the documentation in English. Any issues you deal in English. I believe they even have a UK number so that you don't have to call internationally to speak with them

I use Abbeygate also and find they very good. I insured my car when it was on British plates and then continued with them when I had it put onto Spanish plates. Costs are similar to the UK, higher but more benefits. They are a insurance broker.
I have a friend in Orihuela Costa who uses Direct Line (Linea Direct) and he thinks they are excellent. Perhaps try both for price quotes.

Yes. Have a shop around as you will find so many different quotes at different prices.

Not only can you. Any car you drive must have insurance whether you own it, borrow it or rent it.
