Hello Gill

Mine did that 2 weeks ago. I only had it a year and ½, think it came with a fault on it.

I called an electrician and he told me the motor has gone.  He advised me to buy a new fan rather than get a new motor for it.

Maybe that's the way to go.

Sue 😘

I would say that if the remote still controls the light, the batteries are okay.

I would just be replacing it.

Hi Gilly, unless you can arrange for an Electrically Competant person to take a look at it ,then the best bet would be a replacement unit.

It was the control unit inside the fan on mine.  I removed the control unit and hard wired the fan and lamp, it's controlled by the wall switch and the unit pull cords now.

Sue, for the future, be aware that items bought in the EU come with a two year warranty.
