I have plug in repellents and have not seen a cockroach  since using them there also good for keeping the Ants and mites away personally I find them the best thing I have tried all the sprays and bleach and nothing worked untill I got the plug ins

Same here, since using the plug-ins no cockroaches. It cant be a coincidence.

We had the house sprayed recently €99 inside and out .Have found them dead outside as when they come in contact with  the spray it kills them and any other pests .You have to leave the house for 6 hrs after it's been sprayed lasts for 9 to 12 months .

Hi Annie.
We used to suffer a lot with cockroaches on our urbanisation. We finally found a company called Ecoplagas and they treat the house once a year. Their products are environmentally friendly and do not pose any danger to health, which was imperative as I have a cat. Unlike other companies you do not have to vacate the premises after treatment as nothing is toxic.  This  could possibly be an ideal solution for an asthma sufferer. we have had a cockroach free house for the past 4 years thank goodness! Take a look at the website and see what you think: https://ecoplagas.es/en/home/

Good afternoon,

Please can I ask if anyone else in the Torreta 3 area is having issues with cockroaches ? For 3 weeks now keep seeing live and dead ones even though have traps , sprays and have sealed all possible entry points . I clean my floors with DESIC  which is a repellant . Also have mosquiteras on a...

...ll windows / doors . Rubbish taken daily and sinks and showers wiped dry and there are no leaks for a water supply for them . Opening on bidet sealed and a plug firmly in situ  Is the warm weather attracting them ? When will this pass as becoming a bit uneasy about it all

Thanks

Annie

Do you have a ventilation grille on the outside? If so, take it off and put some fine mesh behind it, then refix it. I have loads of mesh that was left over when assembling mozzy screens. Now i don't get cockies in the kitchen. Same goes for grilles in the doors leading to the galleria (if you have one).

Hello Annie20, It sounds like you are doing all the correct things but your actions appear to be from floor level upwards ; this is possibly not enough. I know of one property where the cockroaches drop in from the roof through any small gap or hole. I am told that they could enter through the to...

At night it may be worthwhile looking with a torch to see any possible entry gap. In Guardamar the local authority lift the street manholes & spray with a fumicide, then spray a colour dot on the cover to indicate that it has been done. I hope that this helps. Peter132

We had a major infestation with them in Torremolinos but we did get rid of them with an Italian product that cost 20 Euros. Careful placing of drops of the stuff and sealing every possible gap with silicon, they eat through filler. When I say every I mean it, Inside switches, power points, conduit, Steel wool in the A/C condensation outlet pipe, light fittings water and waste pipes entry points. overflow outlets, Door seals, frames and surrounds, insect nets, after that 3 months the only time we saw a roach was if a door had been left open all day. Here in Torreta 2 this year after 3 years (And treatment like the other place)  we have only the occasional 1 or 2 a year. Just recently we had 3 in 4 days, They got in through a small gap by one of the sky lights. Sealed and we haven't seen any since, fingers crossed my wife has a phobia about them. Btw Ensign wasps are killers for roach eggs and have excellent olfactory senses so if one comes in your home just let it be, no pun intended

Ants on the other hand are a different problem. I bought various stuff from garden centres and Leroy etc but all pretty useless. I went back to the old methods. Find what they like, Sugar, Honey, peanut butter, Spaghetti  Marmite, Chicken, Lamb etc. Then mix it with Borax in fine powder form. Track down the rough location of their nest from their traffic. I have just got rid of a big nest using mashed chicken breast mixed with borax. I placed the stuff on a a piece of plastic, after about an hour it was black with 100s of ants, each day there were less, today the 4th day, there were only a couple around this morning and at the moment there are none! Add a few drops of water to keep the mix moist a couple of times a day. Borax can be bought from amazon, it was about 8E for 500gr last year. They seem to have different tastes so just try to find out what they like. Incidentally Borax has medicinal  uses too.

Btw Ant nests in flower pots can be gotten rid of with a solution of Borax and water and watering with it, check out quantities on the net.
