They come in the house in the evenings during the summer months. It doesn't mean you have an infestation. I spray around the doors and windows with a cockroach spray and that seems to stop them coming in. I have also bought traps but the other night one just walked around it.

With the numbers you are talking about it is not an infestation just normal, you can get a spray in most supermarkets that will kill them quickly.

Hi,
With cockroaches you kind of have to take a multi-pronged approach to keeping them away. Some of the sprays out there do work well, a bit too well in fact, and i would only use these as a last resort due to the harmful and toxic nature of them. After all, if it causes a bug to riddle around the floor in agony within a few seconds, then what is it doing to your health?
That said, there are quite a few ways to limit the chances of them appearing and they are as follows:
1) If you haven't already got them, get screens put on all windows and doors. This obviously keeps mozzies out as well.
2) Get plug hole grids (not sure on the name) for all drains i.e sinks/bath/shower etc. I have seen these in the chinos and you can most probably get them from the ferreterias.
3) If you have any air vents about, such as one in the kitchen or maybe in the bathroom, see if they have a mesh behind them which will prevent anything crawling in. If not, you can buy replacement vent covers with the mesh in most ferreterias.
4) If you have gaps under your front door (or any door leading to the outside) attach some draft excluders to them as this will stop them crawling in under the door.
5) Check around the house to see if there are any other gaps/cracks around which could be sealed. They only need a small space to get in.
6) I would advise keeping things clean, especially in the kitchen, and any left over food/waste which could be sat in the bin or the sink festering can attract them.
I have gone through this myself and since taking these steps, i have not had a single one (touch wood!).
Hope this helps

You will need to hire a professional to get rid of them, when we moved in here there were roaches, it cost us 60€ to treat the whole place, the place was sprayed and a gel put in every corner, starting seeing resultwith in 24 hours, all the stuff in shops aren't that good.

Put covers on all downstairs plug holes and shower/bath plug holes. These are lattice and allow water to flow out but keep roaches out. You can get them from diy outlets and don't cost much. You don't have an infestation at that level but we found these very helpful. Get a good spray to zap any you come across.

When I lived in Tenerife we had 48 different kinds of cockroach. If you had long hair the flying ones would fly to your hair. Eventually I found that the came up in the drain when the house had been cleaned.
They have now eradicated most kinds perhaps you could ask at a DIY shop Maddiexx
