Good Morning All

Can anyone please tell me what the FGas regulations are in Spain.

I am trying to ascertain what qualifications are accepted to leak test, replace and remove Gases from Split air conditioning units,

As I know that the Spanish government will be looking to tax those with faulty aircon units in the future, and want to get my units serviced by a competent person/company.

The legislation in Spain is exactly the same as it is in the UK as we/they are all governed by the European F-Gas Directive and subsequent legislation agreed by all union members. More information can be found here https://ec.europa.eu/clima/policies/f-gas/legislation_en

Personally, I would accept the recommendation of Steve Birkett. Steve has taken the time and made the financial effort to complete his studies in Spain as well as already having completed them in the UK no doubt.

Your desired route for routine maintenance and servicing is a wise one, albeit, IF the Spanish authorities for F-Gas 'policing' are anything liek the rest of the policing authorities then I doubt you have much to worry about!

In the UK, for example, it is an industry that is the easier target. Domestic dwellings have little to worry about.

Hope it helps
