Good morning
We’re looking at options to keep the pool warm enough to swim all year.
We’ve seen inflatable ‘tents’ and wondered if anyone has any experience of them that they could share. If anyone has one, perhaps we could have a look at it please. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve added a photo as an example of the type we’re talking about. Many thanks.

With the wind we had yesterday that blow up thingy would have been keeping the Med warm.

No knowledge at all but a few questions occur to me as with all inflatables. Do you have to keep the air pump running all the time? How do you stop it blowing away in high winds? How do you clean it? Looks lovely and white at the moment but our rain is usually brown and sticky. Will it achieve swimming temperature inside the tent without heating the pool and the air inside the tent? How long are they expected to last? I expect that you would want to store it away for the hot enough part of summer.

You were looking for alternatives.
If you go to Temu they have a solar system designed for pools and depending on the capacity it will heat your pool. The cost is not as expensive as you may think for a solar option.
I believe that this may help you if you go to their site and investigate this for yourself. I have bought solar lighting from them and I’m very pleased with the product.
I hope this helps you out as an alternative

Thank you. I’ll give it a look. I have se Temu for a lot of things, but hadn’t thought of it for this.

I have friends in Germany that have a rigid retractable cover for their pool. It works really well but the problem is when you get out of the pool you have to stand soaking wet in the freezing cold. It therefore doesn't get as much use as they had anticipated. Whilst the winters here are not as cold or as long, December to February can often get down to Zero. I have a thermal cover which keeps the pool warm for longer and means swimming is possible for as long as I can stand the air temperature.

Aside from the solar covers, which will add a few degrees.
Obviously pool heaters - getting more expensive. But lesser so if you have solar panels to power it.
I found the cheapest option was to get a triathlete type wetsuit - good mobility for swimming and wear it in the pool in December - cheapest fix, by far ;-)

Get solar, mine paid for in 4 years, pool heater can then be run cheap, we swim year round, but use a good cover when not in use, my bubble cover is 8 years old and still good.
