Hello Friends. I wonder if anyone has had infrared heating panels installed in their property? If so, I would be interested to hear about the experience and whether it was a worthwhile enterprise.  I have had some good reports but would appreciate more input before I try to identify a possible installer to contact..  Many thanks.

Graham

Sorry about the misspelling in the title of my post.  It may be a Freudian slip which reveals that I already have an as yet deeply rooted antipathy to this type of heating!    Graham.

Hello Graham, why do you have an antipathy to infrared? It is a very good and economical form of heating, I installed two infrared mirrors in my house in the bathrooms and they heat the space very quickly and economically. Infrared is good for bones and causes no problems with mould humidity etc.

Hello Keith

Thank you for your helpful reply ;I will certainly look into it further and seek out a good installer. if you know of anyone whom you can recommend, I should be grateful for the information.

Just to reassure you, i do not have an antipathy to infrared heating. I was making a rather weak joke (?) to explain my misspelling of the word 'heating'  in the title of my post, in terms of Freudian psychoanalysis.

Regards

Graham

Hi Graham, thank you for your explanation. Hahaha, the mirrors work, not difficult to install, just a drill, they can be programmed but I have not done so.

Personally I think air conditioning is better in and cheaper in a living room.

Hi Keith.

I've been trying to get info about infrared panels, specifically their cost to operate and whether they are a realistic and efficient heating method. Any advice or info you have would be really useful.

Hi Rob, if you look at the Klarstein website you can appraise them yourself, I have only installed the mirror panels in the bathroom, so cannot say if they are economical or not. One advantage which could sway you is that they are silent.
