Hi, we have start/stop internet with AVATEL, is it normal to get buffering when using apps on an aptitude device for watching films and tv. I’m no techy, but it’s the same speed I have with virgin and just not sure if it’s the aptoide apps or the broadband.

If your using a VPN try changing the location to Madrid or Valencia or anywhere in Spain, we use Android box on internet speed of 40 Mbps with very little buffering while streaming HD quality.

Are you connecting the box via wi-fi, if so try an ethernet cable, it's much faster than WiFi, other thing is video stream quality, try lowering it

Try unplugging router for 15 minutes to clear the cache, loads of help pages on the net.

Hi, thanks for this. It’s connected by Ethernet cable, and I think the download speed is 200mbps, or that’s what it was advertised as. We don’t use VPN, not sure how to. We get buffering in the UK as well using Virgin Broadband, also connected by ethernet cable.
I wonder sometimes whether it’s something in the apps. If we lived here I’d prob try a broadband/tv package but it seems expensive to have for the 10wks a year we are here.

I was told that buffering usually happens at peak viewing times. Like you, we’re with Avatel and find it excellent. We use it on both tv sets with no issues. Do you subscribe to Netflix?  You’ll never get buffeting on it and there are so many fantastic shows to watch. Are you using a loaded Firestick?

If so, maybe it’s the problem. Good luck.

Hi, I’m using CinamaHD, LiveNet, RedBot, Teatv, we get buffering during films and channel breakups with tv channels. Have to say I never know which film download to select when it offers you 10/20+ to pick from

Hi, not got Netflix on the tv. It’s an aptoide box, basically the same as the fire stick I think. It has apps on it for films, tv channels, sport. Think it’s most likely to be something  to do with this as generally the broadband itself seems to be ok. Thanks for response

Hi Dorchy,

I have Avatel internet and use a firestick, I connect via wifi only. There is occasional buffering, I get around this by clearing out the application cache on the firestick, sometimes rebooting the internet router. It does not happen that often. I find Avatel pretty good, rarely goes down and they have a good helpdesk that you can call, with a english language option, if there are problems.

If you have the option when loading a movie try using SD rather than HD, should work better with lower internet speeds.

You can check your internet speed using - https://www.speedtest.net/

If you are connected by a ethernet cable you should be getting the fastest speed available. Other than there being a problem with the IP speed or apotide it could be the ethernet cable itself.

Rgds,

Aitch.

Thanks for this. Not seen any film options starting with SD just HD or 360, 480, 720, or 1080. I select by potluck as I’ve no idea what I’m doing. I do go into apps and clear cache, and I’ll try a new Ethernet lead and see if that helps. Thanks again
