Hey Guys,

this week was very hard for me. I heard first time in my life that a tax names "IRNR" exists and which my father never paid. So it is assumed that I have to pay for the last 4 Years about 1.200€ tax.  For this mission, I have to tell you about three complications.

1) My Farther is not in Spain. He is a Russian citizen and he probably can not come again. So I can not check his debt with digital sign in Tax Office.

2) I can not trust to "assesorias" I already contacted because the  "professionals" I contacted did not want to give me any standard term of condition with the content of pledge of secrecy,  taking responsibility for correct to calculate and that they contact me in the right time for additional messages from the tax office. I am really disappointed about that.

3) My Father does not have a fiscal representative in Spain.

I had found out, how to calculate the IRNR in Model 210 for the current year. It's ~250€. Furthermore, I found out, that when I don't pay this within the payment term, I have to add after 12 Months 25% to the 250€. So it's about +/- 312.50€ p.a. for 2016 - 2019.  In case I calculate this wrong, Tax Office will send to our Spain address a letter with a request for additional payment.

Can I add my neighbor to my tax declaration as 2nd address to receive the tax office post? As the professionals don't want to warranty me, that they contact me, when I hire them, for 100%.

Can I visit any Tax Office in Spain for additional information about IRNR or do I have to go to Alicante? (The house is in Torrevieja)

Maybe this is reading someone with the same problem in the past or current year(s) and can answer my questions or give additional hints to solve it.

Thanks for reading, Jason.

Hello Jason, I am guessing that due to data potection laws the tax office will not discuss your father's tax affairs with you. Does your father have capacity to deal with this? Do you have a Power of Attorney over his financial affairs?
Many members of the forum recommend Angar Taxation Services, it may be worth contacting them for general advice.

Get a letter from your father saying he gives you permission to deal with his tax affairs and take it with you to the tax office. If he is ill get a letter from his doctor as well. The letter will need to be translated into Spanish. There is a tax office, AEAT, in Orihuela  if that is more convenient than Alicante.

Pay the Non Resident tax you have calculated which is owed by your father at the moment.

Angar Taxation has helped many people on this forum.

They turn what seems like a large task into something very simple,  and at a very reasonable price.

Maria
