Hi Bryan,

Sabadell is only switching your Digital Signature from SMS to push notification, which is a good thing because it´s safer and faster.  But I´m confused: you said you don´t have a (useable) Spanish mobile, so why are you concerned that Sabadell is making this change?  I really do think you should do as I advised previously and buy a PAYG SIM for the mobile that you already have - it would save you from all this stress.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hiya Aitch...Well, this is now Thursday, and 'The Bank' have done NOTHING to help me with this 😈.

I am STILL locked out! EVEN my local branch haven't contacted me at all!

Why are these people doing this?

In all of my banking years, I have NEVER had a problem! Maybe I'm just lucky?

I have no idea what the outcome may be on this, but they are NOT doing themselves ANY favours!

Thank you again for your welcome and help...Ta muchly...🅱️⛾.

Hi, this does not surprise me, as my daughter opened a bank account here, and went to get her debit card after had to order it, and found it had been frozen, no apology, nothing. Had to employ a solicitor to get the account/card unlocked. This is obviously common here, as on the legal menu in her office, you can employ them for ' Abusive Banking Practices'. What a country!

Good evening to you Kim...

Yes, I DID visit the branch in Los Montesinos and was given the SAME answer: No telephone = NO access!

I then visited an abogado here in San Luis, of which finished DIABOLICALLY!

I prepared a written statement to present to the abogado, but failed to get past the receptionist!

SHE read my statement, and took it upon herself, that there was NO progress to be obtained.

I then exercised my opinion, to advise her, that this is my RIGHT/Freedom of choice AND against my human rights!

As I left the reception, she called out to me; 'DON'T COME BACK AGAIN'! I was flabbergasted with this response! I DID NOT DISGRACE MYSELF!

Kim, the nightmare continues! Thank you...🅱️😈.

I employed my solicitor in Torrevieja, CSB to unlock my daughter's account and card, did a good job, but had to give her power of attorney.

Good Luck Jean

We too have had banking problems (BBVA) in that on 10 June 2021 the account was CANCELLED and CLOSED.  We did not find this out until the 19/7/2021 when our Spanish insurance company told us they had not been paid leaving the house, the car and the electric all unpaid. The bank insisted that we sent them a COPY of all our ID document by EMAIL under JPG, JPEG & PDF and only use 25mb. AS we know COPIES of passport and others are never acceptable nor should such be sent by email.  We could find no method of how you attached these documents.  The result now is that we must contact all those with D D and those companies to renew the policies not to forget the new worry that having not paid the electric it could be cut off with the loss of the fridge and deepfreezers contents Had to make an urgent appointment and travel to the bank. Now our cards are blocked despite being told they were not . What the heck do this bank, who charge a fortune think you do in the meantime

New laws came into Europe begining of the year partly to do with Brexit and home working internationally.

I worked for a Dutch company paying Dutch taxes and was in Amsterdam. Pandamic I was working from home in UK paying Dutch taxes.. This changed and my contract was switched to UK contract paying UK taxes but still working for Dutch company.

Banks the same. If you don't a tax code for that country (or its expired) you can't have a Bank account.. All to do with money laundering and taxes.

My Dutch account is closed and I now have a N26.com spanish account as I have a NIE Number.

Could be part of the reason.

Good morning to you Will and Lynn...

It just seems, lately since 'Brexit' etc, these banking problems are rising to the surface RAPIDLY!

The whole system seems to be falling apart around us, and at this time, who do we turn to?

Yes, there are plenty of lawyers eager to relieve you of your hard earned, but for WHAT?

Personally, I've had enough of it all, and now considering an alternative journey.

Maybe we should all gang together and sort this out? Where would they be, if us lot didn't invest MILLIONS into their economy?

Speaking of BBVA...I was with them when I first bought in Torrevieja and guess what?

When the DWP transferred my FIRST payment via my account...The first payment went 'missing', nearly 1.000 euros!

What happened to it? Even today, I STILL don't know...

I had to 'write it off'...Lining ANOTHER person's pockets! The 'manager', just shrugged his shoulders...Lo siento...¡NO comprendó...

Well...That doesn't matter, I'm a foreigner!

I sincerely hope that things do improve for you both, but I am NOT holding my breath!..🅱️⛾.

Sorry to say this but this country fails on so many levels, and at the end of the day, the message is a don't give a damn attitude, they simply don't care, as long as it's not them, I speak from personal experience, I've seen things here, no one should see, very disappointed. Jean use

Good morning to you Jean...YES! The 'Spanish dream', is now turning into a nightmare!

As I stated in an earlier post, I am now re-considering my options, and thinking of a new direction, where?..I don't know!

To me, this is sheer 'greed', and with what 'certain' members of society are doing, is taking a LOT of people for what THEY can achieve, emotionally AND financially!

I am SO concerned about my bank account, I am just waiting for the next 'hit'.

What if there WAS a discrepancy, what could we do, who would act for us...NOBODY...ANOTHER greedy individual?

In all honesty Jean, I wish to hell that I had NEVER come here!

As soon as I confirm an alternative, I will be outta here like a bullet!

I may buy another motorhome, and hit the road again, Looking back I was SO much h happier, just driving from A to B, and enjoying life...This is NOT enjoyment...Just 'worry', fighting the constant elements!

Thank you again Jean, try to be happy...🅱️⛾.
