Not knowing this area, is it considered safe in regards burglary, pickpockets, that kind of thing. I recognise you always need to keep your wits about you regardless of where you, but just trying to get a feel for this area

I live by the La Siesta area and have friends living permanently in the LA Siesta/El Chapparl area, some crime in the area but nothing to frightened People, there is crime on every area,
La Siesta/El Chapparl would be a very settled area well kept area
Very close by in the New La Hoya development, it is progress well mostly Apartment, but First line of Development running Parallel To The 905 will be Commercial
Presently under Construction is Bauhaus development opening early 27, it similar to Leroy Merlin, also Progress well opening late this year very early next year is Aldi supermarket, you also got Marcendona on Lakeside of 905 of La Siesta
You got Sadabell Bank, 24 hour Veterinary hospital, a recently open Community Park a fabulous facility for the area a very good large Chinese restaurant also a Chinese buffet opposite the Big Chinese restaurant some smaller Restaurants, it got a Fairly new Health centre
You got Washington Square in El Chapparl Bars Restaurants small Supermarket, Chairty shop,
There plenty facility in the area, I sometimes walk my Dog in La Siesta/ El Chapparl / La Hoya area in the evening never come across any trouble,
I personally think it a nice area but there is not many Community Pool in area but you have Aqua centre open in High season

If one types in (eg: Google) "La Siesta, crime rates" there are some stats. However, any criminal activity perpetrators often have transport access & may be targeting tourist type areas. V

I would feel safer in La Siesta/El Chapparl areas than in Central Torrevieja

From the little I've seen, I'd tend to agree. El Chap and further out areas are much quieter, which probably explains it.
But I'm interested in your Centro comment.
Do you have any reason to feel less safe? Or is it pure perception?
It's never struck me as dodgy, but I do think graffiti, for example, makes any place look a little intimidating.
And I'd be much happier walking through Centro than central Birmingham, which is my home area.

Find central Torrevieja very intimidating in evening, seen some unfriendly characters shall I say, like any City I guess around Pubs late in evening, seen a few not so friendly transactions took place, but during the day a nice area but unsuitable for me,
