I see from the SpanishpropertyInsights website that the Digital Nomad Visa has been approved by the Spanish Government. It may be of interest to UK citizens who want to move and work from  Spain.  A brief rundown of the requirements are on the link.

The following link will provide you with detailed information. If you still have questions may I suggest you contact the Spanish Embassy or Consulate in the UK.

The full BOE is here.  It says in one paragraph working for yourself or as an employee.

That’s very interesting and may solve a few problems for people.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ANYONE CONSIDERING A MOVE TO SPAIN TO WORK

As things stand at present, if you hold a UK driving licence and are resident in Spain, then after 6 months YOU ARE NO LONGER PERMITTED TO DRIVE unless you pas a Spanish driving test.
Something to bear in mind.

Which will change in the next few weeks (according to the British Ambassador to Spain). The exchange of licences between UK and Spain has already been agreed and they are just waiting for parliamentary time to pass it through officially.

It is taking some time as this was agreed in October last year but nothing seems to go very quickly here.

You will then be able to apply for an exchange of licence within 6 months. All those who are currently unable to drive due to this rule will also have 6 months to apply to exchange it even if it has expired providing it didn't expire before the withdrawal agreement came into force.

The UK Ambassador to Spain has been giving this same information for weeks/months and as Diana Ross once sang 'I'm still Waiting' !

All of which does not alter the fact that, as it stands, residents who have been here for 6 months, and hold UK driving licences, will NOT be permitted to drive, unless they have passed the Spanish driving test .

As regards the writers misplaced optimism, the British Ambassador, Hugh Elliot, has been spouting out the same stuff since last June at which time he stated he would” have us all back on the roads by July”.
so beware and don’t believe a word he says, cos he’ll happily leave you in a foreign country without a licence to drive, which is the position that thousands of us are in at present, through no fault of our own.

Apologies for being late to the conversation, but unless I've missed something why don't people just take the Spanish test?
