The only way I can imagine it might be a problem caused by you is if you've got your browser set to autofill your credit card details.
If you're manually inputting the details, and entering your name as on the card, the sixteen digits without any spaces between them, and the three digits from the back of the card, then you're doing it correctly.
I've never ordered from Next, so don't know how their system works. It may be that their system requires further security details, to be entered in a Java pop-up, where you'd typically enter digits from your card provider's log-in codes. If that's the case, and you're not seeing such a pop-up, then try using a different browser. For example, I normally use Google Chrome, but certain things I do (like paying for an informe from DGT) mean that I have to use Mozilla Firefox, as Chrome don't like Java.
