I have lost my deeds for a flat in Catral, my solicitor's were in Torrevieja above the notary. Question :- can I use any notary & do I need a Spanish interpreter to obtain replacements? I am in UK but in Spain next week. Hoping someone can help. Maggie

You could certainly get a copy from the original notary, but I don't know about using a different one.

An escritura isn't really of much utility. If all you want is proof of ownership, you can get a nota simple from the Registro de la Propiedad.

Hi Maggie...I went with the real estate agent who sold us our house and my passport. The notary printed a copy immediately. We didn’t have an appointment. Hope it is that simple for you too.
