This forum is for anyone of any nationality that is interested and would like to have or pass on information about Spain.

That is not my experience. I've had a few queries about the vaccine and the Padron.I have stated from the outset that I was a  EU citizen and not from the UK and non

All replies I received were from people who assumed I was from the UK and had residency in Spain.

You obviously don't state in strong enough terms that you already live in Spain or the EU.

Try again and ask your questions........

Really...?

Is it also assumed that you've taken out Spanish residency? It does not suit some people to take out residency at this stage of their lives.

I've had so many negative comments when I say I'm a non resident.

When I first came across this forum I thought it was really good.   Such a pity it's got so partisan.

Perhaps there's another more welcoming and less judgemental  one somewhere where you don't have to be from the UK and a Spanish resident. Just because we speak English doesn't mean we are Brits.

Sorry if anyone is offended. Totally unintentional.

I’m not British.

Neither am I a Spanish resident.

I do spend extended time in Spain annually and in the process of building a villa there, but not as a permanent home.

I’ve had nothing but a positive experience on this forum, questions answered and pointers given in a friendly and non judgemental way.

This wasn’t always the case, thankfully management sorted out all issues and removed all the problems and traces of the problem some time ago.

A simple statement reiterating your status would be enough to inform others and I wouldn’t take anything too much to heart based on someone’s assumptions by not knowing your individual circumstances.

Chin up, move forward and ask for advice.

Your post was not at all offensive. If all the other contributors to this forum was like you we'd all feel welcome!  I'm sorry if you consider my post a rant....I was only stating facts.

Let's leave it there.

I'm not British (Irish) and non-resident. English is the lingua franca here. I have never experienced anything but courtesy and politeness. There is an occasional full and frank debate but that's okay.  I find this forum simply invaluable to get and to offer advice and support.  If it's relevant to my question, I always mention my status as Irish and/or non-resident.

Hi Bubsy,

I've checked back on your previous posts and can see that you have previously mentioned that you're Irish.  I can also see that you've had dealings with some of the former members that BeniSnowbird mentioned.  I understand why this will have impacted your experience of the forum, but can assure you that it's no longer typical of this site.  With more than 38,000 members, it's worth you reiterating your nationality when posting, as it may have some bearing on the answers you receive.

Kind regards,

Kim
