Help. Well and truly confused šŸ¤”. Looking at properties on internet. Can someone please confirm the following for me please:

Bungalow

Duplex

House

In UK a bungalow or a house is a property on it's own, ie nothing above or below. Yet properties I looked at described as a bungalow appear to be in a block, with properties above.

Properties described as houses  I have seen, also have what looks like apartments above.

Then theres duplexes either single storey or double storey at the top of what looks like blocks of apartments, or underneath what appears to be blocks of apartments.

When reading the description it doesn't help to clarify, same with photographs  just cause more confusion.

I understand town houses, from what I've seen, appear either one or two storey properties with nothing above or below, is this correct please?

I hope my questions make sense and any clarification would be appreciated.

Thank you for reading this post.šŸ˜€

Regards

Christine

Your observations are correct. The names are often misleading. Sometimes the agents enter the details in Spanish and the website auto-translates (incorrectly).

I'm afraid you have to study the photos, or ask the agent to clarify.

Rule of thumb. If it's marketed as a bungalow it is almost always what we could call an apartment.

Ok. Thanks for your help. Is a piso also known as an apartment?

Piso is floor in Spanish. So if you see this in an advert that's usually a give away it's an apartment. Top floor or bottom floor.

Town house usually means, no one above you or beneath you
