Hi, I wouldn’t risk a long term rental, to many pitfalls, and the agent was a nightmare after I had put my deposit down, and when I eventually got my keys the air con didn’t work , after10 minutes it stopped, had tried it at the viewing and was told it was fine even a selling point, that had to be replaced to the tune of 700€ I complained about that but got nowhere some of  the  things on the inventory where missing, now finding out it can’t be rented , it’s not made me fall in love with Spain that’s for sure sadly.

Karol you could still do mid-term renting, 2-3 months at a time.  There's definitely a market for it.

Mine took 9 months but be aware once you have your licence you have to register at local police station and inform them of who is staying.

Is it necessary don't know can take chance I suppose but been told some holiday makers have been ejected from property as owner was not registered with police

Ally, yes it is compulsory for owners to register with the Guardia Civil and register all guests with them on a special on-line site, for which you need your personal access details.  You cannot register with the Guardia Civil until you have your license.

Yes I have all that in place, however I do know of people saying don't bother. Not sure of penalty if caught

I read on a forum the fine was between 60-90 thousand euros. If this is the case and you get caught you might as well give them the keys to your property

Yes it does take at least 7 months I applied in June 2018 and received it in March 2019 and then need to get the police login  which is taking a further 2 months
