Hi

I am just wondering if anyone as traveled to the UK via France by road since the lockdown?

We are aware the channel tunnel is running regularly.

Also, we have the Attestation form required by the French authorities.

But not 100% sure the French authorities are ok staying in a Hotel at the halfway stage as its too far to travel all the way to Calais.

There are hotels open and happy to make a reservation but do not commit to saying it's ok with French authorities.

Nothing clear on the Gov.uk also?

Are you UK or Spanish resident?

If the latter you may get no further than the first Guardia stop!

If you are resident then you will be driving  a Spanish  plated car, and as the other person said you will only get as far as the first  check point.

Hi

Thank you for the advice, I have in place all the appropriate documentation and hotels booked for my return to the UK thanks to somebody helping me on this forum.

I have a UK car and I am a UK resident, my thought process was to ride this horrible situation out but evidently it is going to take a very long time to sort out sadly.

Massive thank you to the forum and the individual that was so helpful to me and my wife.

Be careful as a resident  you cannot  drive a foreign  plated  car for more than 3 months I think.

Before you travel, please check that your hotel is still open in the UK (your post suggest you booked a UK Hotel)

I am here now and have first-hand experience of all of my hotel bookings becoming cancelled just after the lockdown began, hence why I am now squatting! (not really... they don't know I am here!)

Hope it helps
