Your prospective employer has to apply for a work visa before you start the job, and demonstrate to the Spanish authorities that they have been unable to engage a suitably qualified EU citizen to do the job.

You apply for a work visa at the Spanish consulate which deals with your part of the UK, London - Manchester - Edinburgh. You need a firm offer of employment from the prospective employer along with confirmation from the Spanish Interior Ministry that the task is highly qualified and a shortage occupation or that the employer has tried to fill the post with an EU citizen and could not find one.

BLS Spain Visa are responsible for processing all visa applications. Work through the link and it will show you the consulate that deals with it, the documentation and proof required and so on. The Consulate website will show you how to get documentation officially translated to Spanish and will, hopefully, answer all your questions. It will also show you the type of visa you need and how to apply for it.

Best of luck.
