Nurse/Carer/Domestic help...(San Luis) area.

There is no aftercare as part of the SpanishHealth Service as it is expected that the family will look after the patient. This has always been the case here.

I sympathise that you are on your own, but I am afraid that you may have to pay for carers to come in to help, or go for respite care into a Residencia for a short period. 

The hospital I imagine has given you discharge papers with all the details, you should be able to collect any medications from any Farmacia on production of your SIP card. If they are medications or dressings which require nursing assistance, your local Centro de Salud can arrange this.

As the other poster has explained, you have to organise your own after care. Although the social services will organise something for the absolute worst cases but expected to pay up at a later date.
