Good Morning,

I will be coming to live in Spain at the end of September but I am worried how I will be able to get my medication each month as I have prescribed tablets.

Please browse this forum - there's plenty of information already on here about this topic.

Bare bones - if you haven't got an S1 from DWP at Newcastle to let you get onto the Spanish health service, then you'll have to buy your medication.

Hi there, without going into personal details on this forum, perhaps you might give us a call. We are a private British Medical Centre in Altea, UK staff and able to prescribe all medication. Tel: 965 845 711 - www.alteamedicalcentre.com I hope we are able to put your mind at rest.

Regards

Barry

Prompted by the above, I'd point out that you don't need a prescription to buy most medications.

I've been here 5 weeks and have had to use the doctors and had no trouble. Waiting for my S1 to arrive but in the meantime have a medical reg for 6 months. They give me my repeat medication and insulin.  Alright I pay for it but it is cheap out here. But it gives me piece of mind until I become a resident and I need my S1 for that.

That's great to hear you are sorted and getting the medical assistance you need. Take care!

You've obviously not read the other threads in this Healthcare forum.

An S1 is the form issued by DWP Newcastle to people in receipt of UK state retirement pension, enabling them to transfer into the Spanish health system.
