Hi im Ella0131 I'm looking to go to Torrevyjia for 2 and a bit months October 1st to December 20th 2021.

Im looking for a short term furnished flat that is reasonable price but im finding the short term lets are expensive and now im not sure how i go about getting myself organised.

I want to be somewhere central, close walk to the beach and near public transport.

Any advice most kindly appreciated

Thanks Ella

Hi Ella

I noticed you asked this question a couple of days ago & got lots of advice & recommendations.

Short term  holiday lets  close to the beach & all facilities ( good transport etc) are more expensive everywhere. Also, because people have lost out on bookings due to the pandemic, there won't be many offering discounts. Look on as many websites as you can find for 'holiday rentals ' in the area - (you selected Torrevieja as your location), any area you choose will be new to you but  you can still look around the coast to see what suits you best.

Next bit of advice is wait a while.... Oct is 6months away and no one knows what might happen between now & then regarding Covid and freedom to travel , you can't say with any certainty.

I'm sure you'll find something nearer the time, you are allowed to stay up to 90days as a visitor.

Cheers

Hello Ella

If you get an Italian passport you wont be so  restricted - that will give you time to have a good look around before making any decisions regarding moving.

Ella, for a short term let you can contact owners directly through many of the holiday websites and facebook pages.  The rates shown on the sites will (mainly) be weekly or nightly rates, but as you are looking for a rental of over two months most owners will give very considerable discount if asked.  It's low season so owners are generally happy to have one longer rental rather than a few odd weeks here and there.  No harm in asking for a special rate, the worst someone can say is no!  Chances are you will find a choice of properties at a variety of reduced prices to chose from.  Bear in mind that you are still looking for an all inclusive price (all bills included), and you need to ask about heating too as nights can be cold in November and December.

Try a few facebook pages (but check the owners have a tourist license) and websites such as Spain-holiday.com and theholidaylet.com.  Also don't use 'instant booking' or 'book now' buttons, just send a message if you use sites such as holidaylettings and vrbo (formerly Homeaway) as that won't get a reduced rate - the owner can change the rental amount manually once you have agreed a price before you both confirm the booking, but those two sites do take booking fees on top.  You can literally save hundreds by asking for a reduced rate for the period you are wanting compared to the weekly rates.  good luck.
