Hello everyone

I'm feeling informative tonight and there's a lot to take in.

I've seen this on Citizens Advice Spain and it's about travelling to Spain from 1st February.  I've done some photos and here's a link...

Thank you Sue. Just to clarify, I am reading that this was with effect from 1st December. If that’s the case what changes from 1st feb? We are flying out in 4th so I’m I bit nervous. We are fully vaccinated (3 jabs). Sorry if I’m missing something onv

Hello

I think the changes are that your second dose certificate only lasts for 270 days after it which comes into force on 1 February

You should be good to go with your 3 jabs.

My certificate/Pass for the second jab runs out on March 22nd which is 270 days after I had it.  Last week, I had my booster jab and I have a new certificate showing 3/3 now.  I don't think there is an expiration date yet for the boosters.

Just make sure you have a NHS Certificate with 3 jabs or the E u certificate with 3 on.

Hope this helps

Sue 😘

I think it's to make more people have the booster jab.

Sue 😘

Looks like I'll be selling my property in Spain if these resrtictions continue. Had covid, recovered and have antibodies (as advised by the NHS test) and so not having the jabs. Anyone have any idea whether selling a property counts as meeting the below (Spanish consulate in Manchester wouldn't confirm).

  1. People who travel for reasons of force majeure or need, or whose entry is allowed for humanitarian reasons, proving it documentary.

Hello

As far as I'm aware, selling your home is not a good enough reason.  Lots of people are in the same position as yourself with COVID regulations etc.

It's very difficult at the moment.

Sue 😘

This rule is no longer in place is it?

I recall it being the rule when the first major lockdown was in place, it was to stop tourists/visitors coming into Spain when the virus was rife and vaccinations were few?

People with holiday homes, and holidaymakers, are free to travel now without such restrictions in place

Hello Stevec61

Rutlander says he's not vaccinated which means he cannot enter Spain unless he is fully vaccinated.  This rule applies now still. Check the photo with a square round.  Hope this helps.

Sue 😘

Current rules are due to expire on 31st January. At the moment it is pure speculation as to what will be in force on 1st. February.

The Spanish government have not yet made any announcement.

The only thing we know at present is that the EU have made the decision to reduce the validity of the EUDCC  from 365 days to 270 days and this will come into effect on 1st February.

In fact if you read the information provided by Citizens Advice Spain  on their Facebook page it it actually confirms that the change for entry requirements  has only been updated to  make people aware of the EU change to the vaccination certificate

I expect the announcement for entry into Spain from Feb 1 will be announced at the weekend.

Don’t forget the current Valencian regulations are also only in force till 31 Jan. That update will again probably be announced at the weekend .

Look what happened in Australia with the world’s top tennis player!  Went over to play tennis is their biggest competition, quarantined but still sent home. People without vaccinations aren’t permitted to enter the country which is the same as Spain. It’s very annoying but that’s the way it is. Your best and simplest option would be to arrange to have your 3 vaccinations ASAP. Otherwise, you can arrange for your solicitor to act on your behalf when selling your property. Please don’t even consider selling your Spanish home, life is too short. I’m really sorry you find yourself in this ghastly situation. It’s simply not fair but many things in life are the same. Life isn’t fair.
