We are looking for a winter rental 2020/2021, preferably two bedrooms, November to March inclusive, around the Torrevieja area, ie. on the bus routes. Anywhere from San Luis down into the town. Around  500euros per month. We are fit mid 70's and know the area well. All suggestions and contacts greatfully rec'd. Cheers Andy and Pauline.

A five month rental across brexit day will be fraught with problems, not the least of which will be residency and travel.

90 day rule! Unless you are applying for residency your max stay is 90 days. After Brexit that will become 90 days in any 6 months.

I think it's a bit more complicated than that.

November to March inclusive, with brexit day on 1st January, will bring the requirement for residency at the end of January, 30 days after brexit day. This will mean a TIE and the income that goes with it.

With the intention of staying 5 months, residency will be obligatory unless a long stay visa is obtained before travelling, but may not be possible as an EU citizen in November.

With brexit day on 1st January, the 90 day rule should fit neatly at the end of March, unless the passport is clocked at the beginning of November.

Who knows! It's all uncharted territory!

Cheers Ray, I had a feeling that the 90day rule would be applicable, so we only are here in Spain this time for 87 days, not knowing which way Brexit was going to go. Thanks for your reply. We will work with this in mind. Thanks again, Andy.
