Can anyone recommend an Insurance Company in Torrevieja that is reliable and trustworthy and honours it's obligations?

Can anyone really recommend one anywhere, not just Torre?

Seriously though. Not a resident, although an owner. Personally I don't trust any of them. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could s~~t. Too many bad experiences with many over the years but....(against my better judgement) I'm currently with Linea Directa (the ones with the daft red phone in the adverts). Not exactly cheap but it's what my solicitor recommended. So far so good (2 years)

Time and mishaps will tell....

Thanks. Shall check them out. You only find out how good they are when you have a legitimate claim. I have ended up out of pocket after my insurers shrugging their shoulders. They have zilch conscience and no moral compass.

I never mentioned price. I paid my premiums for 17 years and when I made my genuine claim in July 2019 all I got was shrugging of shoulders.  So  6 months later later am  substantially out of pocket employing workmen and replacing furniture.

House and contents cover here (€140,000) costs me €203 annually. Compared with my equivalent cover in UK I consider this expensive.

Hi TwinnieHug,

We're with Liberty Seguros - annual premium for buildings and contents insurance for 3 bed/3 bath detached house with private pool, plus Eu 50K contents was Eu 365.  We had a water leak last year, called the claims line, they sent out a guy to detect and fix the leak, the insurers paid him direct - all very efficient.  At renewal, the premium was increased to Eu 398, but Linea Directa have been more expensive every time I've phoned for a comparable quote, so happy to remain with Liberty Seguros.

We also have both our cars insured with Liberty Seguros - my car was rear-ended the day after I collected it from the showroom (I only had the insurance cover note at that stage) and my husband's car was sideswiped in an underground car park (fortunately, the attendant witnessed it and got the number plate of the offending driver's vehicle).  In both cases, we experienced no issues with the claims - booked the vehicles in for repair and everything was processed quickly and efficiently.

As you say, you can only recommend an insurer once you've had to make a claim, and based on our experiences, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Liberty Seguros.

Kind regards,

Kim

I agree with Kim. Liberty have a good reputation and give a good service, whereas Linea Directa have a reputation for poor customer service and doing anything to get out of claims.
