Hi there,

I have just moved to Torrevieja and am looking to set up as a Dog walker/handler providing services for those who may not have time to look after their pooches as much as they would like, any suggestions on how I can get started and ahead of the game? :D

Thank you

Kelty

Hi,

Have you thought about building you own websites. There are plenty of web building sites on the internet that let you build and host a website for no cost.  I would recommend weebly. You have to get your business out there. Business cards is something else you ought to consider. You could leave them on information boards or in local businesses for example a vets, or dog groomer.

Have you done your sums? Do you know what your costs are versus expected revenue. Will you be legally registered and insured. If so you will have to pay a tax. If not will dog owners trust you with their dog. In the event of an accident and the dog requires vetinary treatment you might liable. It's not that simple to start something like this up. You need to consider things carefully. Local govt now cracking down on unregistered businesses. Sorry to pour some cold water on your entrepreneurial spirit but you need to consider all the implications.

All the best

Marcus
