Hi everyone.

I'm Sandy and here with my partner and our 2 fur babies for a month.

We are starting to explore Torrevieja with a view to buying. My parents have had a place out here for 30 years and my mum has just arrived too.

We would be so grateful for any hints or tips you can provide us such as areas to avoid etc. We have already almost decided the really large complex areas aren't for us but not ruling it out completely๐Ÿ˜Š

Really keen on La Rosaleda, Los Frutales so far. Disappointed our doggies not allowed on any beaches and searching for a secure place to let them off the lead, our boy is very nervous.

We would both be looking for part time work, I'm a registered nurse and my other half does construction bricklaying etc at home.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Have you considered Playa Flamenca.  Quite a few areas along the coast to walk dogs and rock pools for them to play in.  On Christmas day everyone dresses themselves and their dogs and head off to the main La Zenia beach

Hi Sandy, I read recently that there are two 'dog friendly' beaches but what area, I can't remember.. but someone on this forum may enlighten us..... My only tip for the move here, is rent first, it gives you time to find your feet, visit all the different areas around you so you can get a feel for an area that you perhaps would like to buy your home. Happy moving ๐Ÿ˜‰

La siesta sounds like your kind of place bigger individual larger  houses with most sizes 2/3/4/5 bedroom with grounds for the dogs I have seen a few dogs around their and you are next to the n332 to go inland more or go to a quiet beach ... playa Flamenca is quite built up with many Urbanizaciรณns as is villa Martin with more modern homes and flats that only seem to cater for smaller dogs ....

Have a look at Los Balcones, residential area, good transport links and big modern hospital!

Rent first if you buy and realise if wrong  you won't be out of pocket and remember house prices here don't increase like UK and 12pc buying costs take a while to get back

Very wise and good advice above .... I planned for a year and researched before we came so my choice was simple as we were bringing up our 4 year old granddaughter that had to come first ie safety and school....

Be prepared for lots of red tape ...

We also new friends who had a holiday home here so that helped ....

Write a list of your requirements and what you really donโ€™t want ...

Donโ€™t be afraid to ask questions itโ€™s a big step but well worth your dream into a reality we have never regretted our move 8 months now ๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome to this beautiful country
