As Oxonia has already said, it will be much easier to help you if you say more precisely where you would like to be, because "Torrevieja" is quite a large area including suburbs and adjoining areas with different characteristics.

As an example, there is a hotel in central Torrevieja where it feels very congested but it is definitely Spanish in feel - then there is another hotel only maybe 4kms away in La Zenia which is right on the seafront away from traffic and is very much full of expats of all nationalities and everybody-ish speaks English!

You're showing as Torre, so I'll assume that's where you want to go!

We bought 12 years ago and did the same as you, viewed in October. If you can, hire a car, it's much easier. We always use Coys and they'll meet you at the airport, and are English. But taxis are pretty much a set fee, currently 60€ basic, more weekends. If you pick up outside the airport, look for Radiotaxi, they stick to the set fee. There is an app now called Pidetaxi, which you use like uber for licensed taxis.

When we stayed we rented an apartment in Playa Flamenca, out of season there's a lot of availability and it's not expensive. If you want a hotel, I'd just go on booking.com etc and get a feel for prices/locations.

You mention it's a viewing visit - I don't know if you mean self organised or paid for by the estate agents. When we went, a few weeks before we emailed the estate agents re the properties we liked/ what we were looking for, so we had a plan. There were a LOT that weren't really for sale/had sold a year before, so it's important to not be wasting your time.
