Hi my name is Paula. I own a home in the lovely town of Torrevieja, with my husband Tony. We currently live in Stockport in th UK, but like many others, would love the chance to make a more permanent life there. Again it's just a matter of the work thing! I work as a nurse, and my hubby is a wonderful ladies and gents hairstylist, among all his DIY handyman know how!!

I'm just saying hi to all those like minded lovelies who adore Spain as much as us!!

Loving this forum, so much information!!!

Cheers everyone

Paula

Hi Paul

Me and my partner came out to Spain a year ago we absolutely love it, the life, cheap living, slow pace, and we live near Playa flamenca. I've just come back from uk visiting family, came back a week early. Hated every minute of it except for my family of course. Seriously think about coming out here sooner rather than later best decision we made would never look back. Good luck keep in touch and when ya next come out maybe we could introduce ourselves. We've made some fab friends in here

Hi Ra,

Thank you for that, we constantly keep discussing where we're up to out here (UK) and at what point we should just "do it"!!! Hahahahaha but it's the work thing, do we wait till nearer retired, or, do we bite the bullet abd just go for it!?!?

We cycled to Playa Flamenca last visit (just couple weeks ago) and our next time we're there we're looking to update the property as it's quite dated!! Soooo can't wait!!

We're gonna try get out again this year so will let ya know when!!

Thanks for the contact

Paula

Hi Paul and Tony

I moved here October 2016 South of Torrevieja with my dog and 2 cats.

The peoplease I have met are wonderful and enjoy the life. I took the plunge on my own and so glad I did.

I do miss M&S food for ease and that is it. Speak to peow on here and your neighbours. As humans the majority of us live to help.

My tip given to me is things happen slower here so if booking contractors etc bear in mind. I was a now person but understand life is slower but with that comes relaxation.

The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.

Enjoy.

Hi Ra

My husband and I have a place in Playa Flamenca.  We go out about 3 to 4 times a year.  Hoping to retire there in approx 5 years (if not before).   Can't wait to live out there

Hi Paula - I bought a holiday home 03184 last year - already had a broken water pipe and constant electricity blackouts but I fly in the face of

adversity and absolutely love it in Torrevieja - my probs have been fixed but I'm always on the lookout for a good handyman with a drill!

 - I return in May with my MUM -(she's 84 and still Line Dancing every night in the UK) - I've found a local Bar that she can join but am in dire

need of company to keep me sane while she shuffles round the dance floor

Hope to catch up soon

Linda

Hi there, I love hearing positive reports about people who have made the decision to buy a place in Spain.  There are so many people who are quick to point out the negative aspects.  We've finally taken steps to get our own little piece of Spain - after years of dreaming! We stayed in Torrevieja while house hunting but we've ended up going for La Marina.  I'm in intensive research mode and loving the Forum too.  Heartwarming to find like minded helpful people! Hope you continue to enjoy it as well.
