Hi, we have lived here for 20 years and lived in Benijofar.   Three years ago we moved to live in El Chaparral which is near San Luis/La Siesta.   The reason we moved was to be near busses, bars, shops etc., and also to not be far from Torrevieja beaches.   As you get a little older you will find the busses are necessary so I suggest you have a look at El Chaparral, San Luis and La Siesta, you may enjoy those areas.

Also you will need to think of your hobbies and what you want to do in your spare time.   Where you live will make it easier or harder to get to the things you want to do, hence El Chaparral is easy to get to all areas due to the bus service.

Good luck,

It is a matter of preference for everybody.   Blue Lagoon, do they have buses?  May have now not sure but did not used to have.   Check out your hobbies, most important or you will get bored.  There is lots to do out here but your need a car or transport to get to lots of these things.   Good luck,

Hi, I live in Petrer , 20 mins from airport , 40 mins Quesada , Torrevieja , , 25 Alicante, 55 Benidorm 70 valencia , purely Spanish , not little Britain , although in the past 4 years We have lived here , more English speaking people moving in , Property cheaper , eating out ,fantastic choice at great prices , council tax for a 4 beroom townhouse €200 for the year ? and all you need on your doorstep

People are fantastic , ,but definately not little Britain ,which is one of the main reasons why we love it ....

renting is a good idea ....we bought then jumped out of a house in Blanca at the last minute , as it was a mosquito ridden place , again this has to be considered ,...do you want to be a meal on legs for these little biting bug&£rs

Also in Petrer s favour , is we had no problems with floods ,whereas we have seen some serious problems with people losing their homes ,possessions etc. Nearer the coast

Think carefully ,and good luck Rosie

Thanks Allan, fortunately I don't have a timetable to get this done,so I'm not going to jump at anything. Have spent the last 10 days looking at different areas..it's much harder to reach a decision when you are on your own...

Thanks for your insight...

HI Rosie - have you looked at property in Toretta Florida - 5-10 mns from The Haberneras and has everything within a 10mns walk - The Marina Bar with Swimming pool, Aquapark, Friday Market, Restuarants, Shops (Carrefour, Mercadona & Lidl) and lovely long walks next to the Pink Lake (was the old railway line)  - 20mns from the Marina

Police & Fire Station close at hand so very safe

There are a few 2-3 Bed small Villa's for sale with nice gardens or outside Patio's - have you used Alegria Agency?

I did the same 4 years ago based in La Mata and looked at properties all around the area couldn't find anything I liked and unsure of area I wanted to be eventually bought a log cabin inbetween Catral and Crevillente on a mobile home site only 20 mins to la mata other beaches , Airport etc used for holidays and last year permanent living , in that time got used to finding our way around and where we wanted to be and have now purchased a house which weve done up while living in our log Cabin , We have now moved into our house and selling log cabin as its classed as mobile home easy to buy n sell no tax etc to pay and cheaper than a house , advantage of being on a secure site community keep an eye on your place when your not there , only downside is there are monthly fees for your plot but for us it was worth it to find right house rather buy in wrong area and then have to sell up and move agian plus was money we would of spent on holidays aboard if we didnt have holiday home .

Maybe another option for you to look at

My husband and I were walking from The Renault garage over to Habaneras while our car was being serviced and we chanced upon the houses mentioned above.

I would be dishonest to say anything other than the show house was perfect. As I recall, there was a lovely pool at the hall door and a seat set closeby in the brilliant sunshine. There was private parking too and they were affordable!

Well worth viewing as the location would suit somebody planning to live or spend a lot of time there. Of course, buying new means that it is modern and smart!
