A couple of sites that may be helpful for you to have a look at:

Citizens Advise Bureau Spain for bureaucracy stuff

N332 for anything to do with driving in Spain.   Their Facebook page has kept us up to date with the rules and regulations in respect of the virus since March last year.   That page and their website are run in conjunction with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking and the website also has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code.

Hi,

Thanks for your helpful reply

Hope your well and having a good week

Hello Derek

Torrevieja town centre is a complete mix of many  nationalities so  making friends  might be limited, unless you get chatting to people (how's your spanish?)  Clubs/bars  used by expats will be mainly  out of town on the urbanisations where ex-pats live - mostly clos...

...ed at the moment due to resrictions & social distancing  but some likely to reopen soon. Sorry but  I still  dont know  any ex pat bars in the centre of town.

As far as work is concerned you can't work legally unless you are living here  & register as 'autonomo' which is self employed. You would need to persue that by applying for a Visa from the Spanish Embassy in the UK - it has got much more difficult & expensive to move to  since Brexit. Until then , as a visitor you can visit for up to 90 days in a rolling 180days.

Won't overload you with too much info. that currently,  you don't need. When you can travel & spend time here as a holiday visitor, you can get more advice  & help  on the forum

Cheers

Elinspain
