Hi Everyone,

So all my plans and preparations for my move to Spain have been put on lockdown so I thought I'd keep the dream alive by connecting with you all while we're waiting for normal to come back.

Kind regards

Debbie

Welcome to the forum, Debbie. In order to prepare yourself for the move, have a look at my guides, especially the one about what new residents need to be aware of.

Thanks Jim I definitely will.  I can't do anything practical at the moment so am trying to educate myself as much as I can in preparation.

Hi Debbie. Welcome to the group. I’m stuck in the U.K. too, but love to read all the news on the forum and keep up to date with what’s happening on the Costa Blanca whilst I’m missing my visits to Lomas de Campoamor. Best wishes. Stay safe.

Hi Debbie, we are the same, we were due to move over but now on hold as we have no idea when we can now. We just have to sit and wait and hope the situation starts to improve for everyone soon.

Hi Debbie - bit of a theme developing here. We are also in limbo and waiting to get out to buy a permanent residence. Plenty of info on here and others in similar situations  :)

Just adding my name to the list of people who were planning to move to Spain this year.  We do already have a holiday home in Quesada but were hoping to get residencia and move to Spain permanently later in the year.  We had just accepted an offer on our house in UK during the first week of lock down.  So like the others, in the meantime we will do our best to keep informed and continue with the online Spanish lessons.  Wouldn't it be nice to think that if we all achieved our dream; we could meet up sometime to celebrate.

Morning all

Same boat, have home in San Luis but stuck in UK for foreseeable. Was planning on moving out permanently next year, but as everything is up in the air at moment we just need to sit tight and see how it all pans out.

Defo missing our bi-monthly trips out to Spain and seeing all our friends. However, social media has been a Godsend in this respect.

As long as everyone is safe and sound then that's all the matters for now. Keep your chins up- we're a day nearer the end of this. It's close....even if it doesn't feel that way just now and whilst the days can drag by the months and years fly by.

I think that would be a great celebration :-) Which online language programme are you using and would you recommend? I keep looking but there are so many to choose from and they never publish the cost.

Debbie I accepted early retirement at work in the UK early March....well timed given this current pandemic.  I have a hols home in Torrevieja and had pre purchased 3 return flights for 2020-may only b able to use the Oct ones at this rate....still considering Spanish residency....I do hope we can all meet up when this is over and celebrate our new options  😁
