This will be used by myself, my girlfriend, my children and her family and children.

Im British/Irish as are my children my girlfriend and family are all British. Ages from 4 to 70

I've been looking so far from Gran Alicant down to Torrevieja budget under 90,000 euros

Looking for any recommendations hints, tips and pitfalls.

Hi Col,

I think a lot depends on what you will be using the apartment for, if its just holidays, with no plan to retire out there in time, or to rent it out when you're not using it, its really a case of getting out there and finding an area you like.  Always plenty of property, and maybe a good time to buy, exchange rate has recovered a bit and because of the uncertainty around Brexit, and the diffficulty with travel at the moment there may be a few bargains around.

However, I would say you need to consider that flight schedules may well change when it all gets going again, who knows if all the airlines will survive, and if your preferred route is cancelled that would make it difficult for you to get there easily.

If you are thinking of retiring out there the entry requirements have changed since Brexit, and you are unlikely to get a licence to rent your apartment, in some areas they are not being issued and in others there is a long waiting list.

I know this all sounds negative, but with hindsight I would not have bought our apartment 4 years ago, so much has changed since then and we havent been out for nearly two years. But we are still paying the bills.  This virus isnt over yet,  I would say hold off a bit longer until things are clearer.  However, if you do decide to go ahead you may well find a whole new set of friends and have some fantastic holidays, as we have previously. Good Luck!

Hi Col

It would be easier to give hints/tips about location if you said a bit more about what you're requirements are eg proximity to beach, will you have a car, quiet/noisy area etc?

Cheers

Steve

Looking for Holiday home/ apartment, no car, something for everyone aged 4 to 70, noisey area not an issue, if close to beech no need for pool if further away would require excess to pool. Cheers.

Hi col

Have you incorporated tax’s and charges within your 90k they’re quite hefty. 10% tax plus solicitors fees.

I know a great estate agent who showed us around different areas if your interested

good luck
